Ranked as one of the world’s​ ​most​ ​innovative​ ​company​, KONE has installed over millions of elevators and escalators over the years committed to smooth people flow. Although the use of elevators and escalators has become increasingly common, it is important to know how to safely use the equipment to avoid accidents.

    “As part of KONE India’s unique initiative on spreading awareness about safety in elevators and escalators, KONE introduced a 3D animated character called “Liftman”. Just as superheroes save lives of people with their distinct superpowers, KONE’s liftman gives advice on the safe and effective use of elevators and escalators. This endearing superhero creates a connect with passengers and plays a major role in ‘The Chronicles of Liftman’.

    Children have always been part of our center of approach when it comes to safety. Over years of consistent research, we have found that people, especially children remember 50% more what they see than what they hear. Cartoons or animated content has always evoked interest in children and can be effectively used to illustrate dangerous situations which might be impossible to capture on film in real life.

    If you notice something unusual in the elevator, such as sounds, smells, or malfunctions in the lighting system, call your local KONE Customer Care Center to schedule an inspection.
    Passengers should keep away from the elevator doors during the ride. Those traveling
    with children should hold their hands and pets should be kept close on a leash.
    Parents should accompany children at all times and discourage them from playing in or around the elevators / escalators.

Apart from films, the KONE Liftman also features in live Liftman shows at malls, apartment complexes and public places to drive home the need to follow safe practices at all times. Thanks to the KONE Liftman, our core message of safety is driven home in an educative and engaging manner. This adorable ‘live’ character also makes for memorable experiences and better retention of safety messages. The message targets children as KONE believes that once the message of safety is ingrained in them, we can look forward to an accident free people flow in future. Liftman has in fact grown to become a much-liked mascot for KONE’s service team. With his assistance the team is able to communicate and address the safety needs to our customers and end users. The KONE Liftman is here to stay. Already he has completed more than 100 live shows this year, reaching out to over 5000 people. His journey will go on, as he continues on his mission to spread the message of safety to everyone he comes in touch with.
